Doors and windows in Washington, DC are rarely as simple as removing an old unit and installing something off the shelf. Many homes have been altered, expanded, repaired, and remodeled repeatedly over generations, leaving openings that are out of square, non-standard in size, or completely different from modern production dimensions.

We carefully measure existing openings, evaluate surrounding trim and framing, and determine whether a standard, modified, or custom-sized product is appropriate before anything is ordered. Accurate field measurements are critical—especially when working with expensive custom doors and windows where a small mistake can create major installation problems.

We provide installation and replacement of entry doors, interior and exterior doors, windows, and skylights, including the carpentry and finish work often required to properly integrate new products into an existing building. This may include modifying jambs, repairing framing, replacing interior or exterior trim, addressing flashing and waterproofing, and completing paint or finish repairs around the opening.

For historic properties, we also consider the existing architectural character, divided-light configurations, trim profiles, sightlines, and other details that may need to be preserved or replicated.

Our approach is simple: measure the building that actually exists—not the opening shown in a catalog. The result is a door or window that fits properly, functions correctly, and looks like it belongs in the property.
